The visit of BeamLight Foundation (BLF) team to GRA Primary School, Emmanuel Primary School, and Ojota Primary School on 23rd October 2024 went well. The pupils were all enthusiastic to learn.
The team spoke basically on two broad topics: Sex Education and Value Education (with a focus on core values). The pupils were taught the basics of sex education, emphasis being laid on the differences between the male and female gender. The pupils were equally encouraged to maintain good hygiene and never to dress up in front of someone from the opposite sex (even if the person is their sibling). The pupils were encouraged to imbibe the value of love, kindness, respect et cetera. They were made to realise that if they truly love and show kindness to other people, they would not engage in any practises that will hurt others. They were equally taught the differences between a good touch and a bad touch. That is, a touch that intrudes into one’s private part is obviously a bad touch and should never be allowed.
