BeamLight Foundation (BLF) team visited ExpressWay 1 & 2 Primary Schools on 13th November 2024.

The pupils were taught the basics of sex education and core values they need to imbibe. The pupils were informed of the basic differences between a male and a female child. They were encouraged to respect each other personal space and set healthy boundaries. They were informed that on no account should they allow anyone to touch their private parts; and if per adventure anyone make such an attempt, he or she should be reported. The pupils were equally informed of the need to prioritise their safety. They should never run errands that their parents or guardians are not aware of.
The pupils were equally informed to imbibe the values of love, kindness and empathy, honesty and integrity, respect, responsibility, critical thinking, and problem solving, among others. They were told that if they have love for themselves and others, it will be easier for them to uphold other values. They will be able to show kindness and empathy towards others if they genuinely love. They will equally act honestly towards others and respect them, too. Critical thinking will help them to find solutions to the array of problems around them.
